Guidelines For Parents

Parent-Teacher Communication

Parent-Teacher contact and cooperation is essential for the harmonious development of a student's personality. Vigilance on the part of the parents/guardians pays rich dividends.

Please use the school diary as a means of communication with the school by checking the remarks, if any, made by teachers.

School Supplies & Uniform

Ensure that your ward has all the text-books, items of stationery, and craft materials. Also, make sure that your ward comes to school in the proper school uniform.

Please attend Parent-Teacher Meetings and sign the test copies/papers as and when sent home.

Intimate the change of address and telephone number to the school office. Do not send money or valuable articles with the students, as the school shall take no responsibility if they are lost.

Bus Rules

It is the sole responsibility of the parents to escort the child to and from the fixed bus stops.

Any suggestions or complaints should be reported to the transport in charge. Parents are expected to treat the bus staff kindly.

Progress Report

Parents will be informed of the academic progress of their wards and their participation in co-curricular activities. The academic session is divided into two semesters as per the CBSE guidelines:

  • Four Formative Assessments
  • Two Summative Assessments

Assessment Schedule:

  • 1st Unit Test/Formative Assessment – May
  • 2nd Unit Test/Formative Assessment – July
  • 1st Summative Assessment – September
  • 3rd Unit Test/Formative Assessment – November
  • 4th Unit Test/Formative Assessment – January
  • 2nd Summative Assessment – Feb./March

Final results will be calculated by taking into account all the tests and examinations/assessments during the year. Promotion is granted on the basis of the whole year's performance. There will be no re-examination after any exam; parents are requested not to approach the principal for re-examination.

Parent-Teacher Contact

To establish a meaningful relationship between the school and parents, meetings are held regularly to discuss each student's progress.

The class teacher also communicates with parents through the student's school diary.

Attendance

A minimum of 75% attendance is essential for promotion to the next class.

It is compulsory for students to attend school on the last day and the first day after the summer, puja, and winter vacations.

No leave is granted except on prior application by parents/guardians. In case of sickness, a medical certificate from a registered doctor is essential. The school will only permit the student to rejoin after submission of the medical certificate if the student has been on long-term sick leave.

Registration & Admission

Admission is open to all irrespective of class, creed, and community. A child's name will not be registered for admission unless the following documents are provided:

  • Municipal birth registration certificate
  • Two passport size recent photographs
  • The latest progress report from the previous school (Except Nursery Class)

Registration for admission from Nursery to Std. Vth will commence from 27th November 2015. Parents are requested to obtain the Registration Form from the office during working hours by paying Rs300/- (Three Hundred only). The registration fee is neither refundable nor transferable. Please refer to the attached list for fee structure and further details.

Admission Test will be conducted in December/January each year for the session starting from the first week of April. Although no specific syllabus is prescribed, candidates must have sufficient knowledge of subjects relevant to the previous class.

The admission card will be issued only after the admission formalities are completed. Parents must report to the reception along with the admission card on the specified dates. The ward will not be allowed to attend classes if the admission process is incomplete.

Procedure of Payment

Fee is charged monthly for every student. The school fee should be deposited by the 10th of every month, failing which a fine of Rs. 50/- will be charged. Annual charges are payable at the start of every year after one year of study.

Please do not send the fee through the school bus driver, conductors, or any other school employee. Check the entries at the time of payment as no complaint will be entertained later. Advance fee on a quarterly, half-yearly, and annual basis is also accepted.

Withdrawal

Withdrawal of a student from any class should be preceded by a month's written notice or one month's fee.

All dues must be cleared before a Transfer Certificate (T.C.) is issued. The Transfer Certificate will be issued 5 days after receiving the application.

The school may, without prior notice, ask the withdrawal of a child on the following grounds:

  • Academic: Student fails in the same class for two consecutive sessions.
  • Disciplinary: Conduct not in the interest of the school.
  • Fees in Arrear: Fee not deposited for three consecutive months.

Once a student's name is struck off the roll, re-admission will be considered only after all arrears and the fresh admission fee are paid, provided a seat is available.

Important Information

The MMS Management reserves the right to revise the tuition fee, other fees, or any terms and conditions deemed fit in the interest of the institution, with a one-month prior notice. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

Students are accountable for their behavior both inside and outside the school. Wearing of fancy earrings, rings, bracelets, or watches is strictly prohibited, and mobile phones are not allowed on campus.

The Registration form should be submitted only at the time of Registration. Admission will be granted only with the help of that form after the child is admitted.
